The Florida Legislature has allocated $280 million for the 2025–2026 fiscal year to fund new Wind-Mitigation Inspections and Grants under the My Safe Florida Home (MSFH) Program.

The Legislature has established four prioritization groups for grant and inspection eligibility:

Group Eligibility Categories (Effective July 1, 2025):

  • Group 1: Low-Income Homeowners Age 60+
(Defined as households income at or below 80% of the county median income)
  • Group 2: Low-Income Homeowners (All Ages)
  • Group 3: Moderate-Income Homeowners Age 60+
(Defined as household income below 120% of the county median income)
  • Group 4: Moderate-Income Homeowners (All Ages)

Note: The MSFH Program must prioritize low and moderate income households as directed by the Legislature. Should there be any un-used home inspection funds remaining after all low and moderate income households have been served, the Program may open home inspection applications for higher income households on a limited basis. However, higher income households will not be eligible for grants at this time.

Limited availability. Act now.

Funding is limited and grants are awarded on a first come, first served basis. We strongly encourage eligible homeowners to complete their applications as early as possible to maximize their chances.

Remember, the MSFH Program is Two-Step Application Process:

  • STEP 1. You must apply and receive your FREE Wind-Mitigation Inspection -
Create a portal account and submit your request for the inspection.
  • STEP 2. You must apply for a Wind-Mitigation Grant -
Only after receiving your inspection report (step 1) can you apply for the program grant.

REQUIRED: Group Prioritization Questionnaire

To be assigned to a group category and move forward, all applicants must complete the Group Prioritization Questionnaire inside their program portal account. Log in or create your portal account to complete it.
